On December 13, 2021, the Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar of Quito named Michael Shifter as Honorary Professor at the inauguration ceremony of the international conference titled “América Latina en el contexto mundial pos Covid”. Shifter received this prestigious designation in recognition of his dedication to promoting open and honest dialogue across the Americas and his commitment to strengthening inter-American relations.
Roberto Teixeira da Costa was awarded the Mário de Andrade prize by Governor João Doria of São Paulo. The award was a way to recognize and honor those who kept São Paulo culture alive during the period of stoppage of in-person activities.
