Washington, DC – The Inter-American Dialogue is pleased to announce the appointment of Kellie Meiman Hock to its Board of Directors. With over three decades of experience in international relations, trade policy, and global business strategy, Ms. Meiman Hock brings a wealth of expertise to the Dialogue.

“We are very excited to welcome Kellie Meiman Hock to our organization,” said Ambassador Tom Shannon, co-chair of the Inter-American Dialogue’s Board of Directors and former undersecretary for political affairs in the US Department of State. “Her extensive background and experience across the Americas and her proven track record in navigating complex international issues will be invaluable to our mission.”

Ms. Meiman Hock’s career spans both the public and private sectors. She served for nearly a decade as a US Foreign Service Officer, with postings in Colombia and Brazil. Her final government role was as Director for Brazil and the Southern Cone at the Office of the US Trade Representative, where she played a key role in US trade relations with Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, and Paraguay.

In 2000, Ms. Meiman Hock joined McLarty Associates, where she rose to the position of Managing Partner. She founded the firm’s trade and Brazil/Southern Cone practices and was instrumental in its global expansion. Her expertise extends beyond the Western Hemisphere to include strategies for addressing geopolitical uncertainty, global trade and supply chains, and industrial policy dynamics worldwide.

A member of the Council on Foreign Relations, the Women’s Foreign Policy Group Leadership Council, and the Bretton Woods Committee, Ms. Meiman Hock is a respected voice on trade, investment, and economic policy issues. She is a graduate of the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service and is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.

Ms. Meiman Hock’s appointment strengthens the Inter-American Dialogue’s capacity to address the complex challenges facing the Western Hemisphere and to promote cooperative solutions among the Americas.
