Roberto Laserna is president of the Fundacion Milenio, a think tank dedicated to economic studies, and director of CERES, a social research center. Laserna is the author of numerous books and articles on social movements and democracy, human development, drug policies, and the economics of natural resource rents. He has been a professor at Universidad Mayor de San Simón, Universidad del Pacificó in Lima, and Princeton University.
He received his BA in Economics from Universidad Mayor de San Simón. He continued his studies at the University of California, Berkley, where he received his doctorate in 1995.
