Juan Carlos Capuñay was formerly ambassador of Peru to China, Singapore, and Japan, and executive director of the APEC Secretariat. He is Doctor Honoris Causa at the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, Peru and an honorary professor at several universities in China and Peru. Capuñay is also a member of the Academic Committee for the Center for Asia-Pacific Studies at the Beijing Foreign Studies University.
Capuñay was an event speaker at the Dialogue.
