Beryl Seiler joined the Inter-American Dialogue in 2017 as a Development and External Relations Coordinator. Originally from France, she graduated magna cum laude from Tufts University, where she received a BA with a double major in International Relations and Spanish. Prior to becoming a coordinator, Beryl interned with Combe Incorporated in New York, PepsiCo Malaysia, and the Swiss Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She is fluent in English, French, and Spanish.
It is now becoming increasingly clear that recent protests reflect the anger of the Nicaraguan people towards what many describe as an environment of systematic corruption and abuse of authority that has spanned almost 30 years.
On June 12, the Inter-American Dialogue was proud to host Carlos Alvarado, sitting president of Costa Rica, to discuss a variety of goals and challenges with Dialogue President, Michael Shifter. President Alvarado discussed his plans to restore faith in the government by tackling environmental issues, promoting inclusive education, and improving the transparency of the government.
