Alberto Vollmer is chair and CEO of Ron Santa Teresa, a rum distiller in Venezuela established in 1796.

Vollmer holds a degree in civil engineering. While a student, he worked as a photographer in Bolivia, Chile and Venezuela, an art form of which he is a passionate supporter through the Alberto Vollmer Foundation. As a civil engineer, Vollmer worked in an alternative housing project in the slum of Carapita and then in the public housing department of a state government in Venezula.

Vollmer is a board member of Gas Doméstico-Domegas, Fundación Bigott, and Venamcham, and vice president of CONAPRI (the National Investment Promotion Counsel). He founded Project Alcatraz, a highly-successful social rehabilitation program that recruits and reintegrates gang members into society. Vollmer has founded numerous rugby teams, was a member of the Police Reform Commission in Venezuela, and has advised different Latin American countries on reintegrating violent citizens into society.

 

Vollmer joined the Dialogue as a Member in 2011.
