Mariana Costa, CEO of Laboratoria, was selected as one of the "Future 50" project leaders by the Project Management Institute (PMI). The awardees "represent rising generations of changemakers dedicated to forging a better tomorrow." PMI invites experts from around the world and interested individuals to submit their applications. The nominees and finalists are then screened and interviewed by a committee.

In 2014, Costa launched Laboratoria to train women in areas such as software development and user experience design and connects them to job opportunities. More than 2,000 women have graduated from Laboratoria's programs and 80 percent of those graduates have been hired to tech jobs. According to PMI, Costa was selected "for giving Latinas access to careers in technology - and added economic power."

Congratulations, Mariana!
