Ecuadoran President Rafael Correa recently announced his intentions to ask the members of his party to present and push forward a constitutional amendment that would allow indefinite reelection of all politicians in the country. Correa, whose current term ends in 2017, has not yet announced whether he will seek reelection. How likely is the amendment to pass? What is behind Correa’s support for the amendment?
