Although 95 percent of the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean have educational laws for the care of children with disabilities, in 42 percent of countries, the law provides for education to be provided in separate facilities, and only 16 percent promote inclusive education; the rest opt for combinations of segregation and integration (UNESCO, 2020).
The case of the province of La Pampa, where inclusive education is now the law, shows that another reality is possible. The Argentine province became the first in the country to include 98.5 percent of students with disabilities in common schools. This webinar presents the experience of La Pampa, the path taken to achieve full inclusion, and the successes, failures, and pending challenges.
