Julián Castro, Inter-American Dialogue member and Former US Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, has been named as chief executive of the San Francisco-based Latino Community Foundation, known as the largest network of Latino philanthropists in the United States.

The Los Angeles Times highlights Castro’s new role, which will begin on January 1. 

“Castro — who also served as mayor for his native San Antonio — finds it encouraging that the foundation has a presence not just in big cities but also in farm working communities in the Central Valley.”

Julián Castro is a member of the Inter-American Dialogue.
