Vidas en Movimiento

Vidas en Movimiento (VEM) is a digital platform that enables the registration of children on the move and facilitates simple connections between member organizations. A pilot program was launched in 2025, registering over 4,500 individuals—including 3,300 children, nearly 60% of whom were aged seven or younger. Twenty-five organizations from Colombia and Venezuela joined the platform. Data revealed that more than 50% of the children were migrating for economic reasons, while over 90% of the accompanying adults lacked work or residency permits, thereby increasing the risk of vulnerability. A total of 1,500 families were registered; of these, more than 53% had passed through multiple service points. Services provided included healthcare, education, legal counsel, and housing assistance. The first-year results were compelling: the data collected ensured better monitoring and care throughout the migration journey, enabling the coordination of services, the prioritization and planning of joint interventions, and proactive action.

In 2026, the project enters a phase of expansion and consolidation, aiming to strengthen the Community of Practice, reinforce and broaden the existing partnership network, and extend Vidas en Movimiento to other points along the migration route by incorporating organizations in Mexico City.
