Migration is a local phenomenon. Although national governments are key players in crafting policy to address the hemisphere-wide migration crisis, mayors are the ones feeling and dealing with the pressure and, in many cases, developing inclusive solutions.
Latin America’s leading cities have a legacy challenge. Population growth has outstripped their ability to deliver infrastructure and services, creating daily stress from issues like gridlock, crime, and pollution. The region’s cities have have to figure out how to deliver more for less.
The Dialogue is a hemispheric organization that builds networks of cooperation and action to advance democratic resilience, shared prosperity, social inclusion, and sustainable development across the Americas.
