We are pleased to share with you the two most recent PREAL publications, both in PDF format:
The first is the latest Working Paper (No. 45), and the second is the new edition in our series of one-page electronic issue briefs, entitled Sinopsis Educativa. The publications, titled “Supply, Demand, and Teacher Salaries: A Model to Build”, correspond to a report written by Alejandro Morduchowicz for the PREAL Working Group on Teacher Professionalization. In the report, the author examines the link between the teaching profession market and market-controlled salary structures. In particular, he looks to understand how the specialization of teaching impacts the labor market and measurement so far as market institutions influence: a) teacher effectiveness, b) the effectiveness of the organizations in which teachers work and, as a result, c) students, according to the author’s explanation of the report objectives. The report concludes with an assortment of suggestions about the key issues that must be addressed in order to advance the discussion of teacher salary, which are highlighted in Sinopsis Educativa No. 21.
Both the Working Paper and the Synopsis can be found online in the publications section of PREAL’s homepage (https://www.preal.org/).
