The Inter-American Dialogue’s Migration, Remittances and Development Program leverages data on migration and remittance flows to promote economic growth. Through research, policy analysis, technical assistanceproduct development and project implementation, the Migration Program has forged partnerships among public and private institutions in over 80 countries around the world. The program focuses on policies governing the flow of remittances, private sector financial and remittance services, and financial access for migrants and remittance recipient families.  

Remittance Industry Observatory

As the competitive nature of remittance industry moves forward, the US economy shows signs of improvement, Latin American migration patterns shift, and various countries in the Americas review their legislation on migration, it is important for industry leaders to stay informed of the trends that will affect their businesses. Manuel Orozco is the director of the Migration, Remittances, and Development Program at the Inter-American Dialogue. He also serves as a senior fellow at Harvard University’s Center for International Development and as a senior adviser with the International Fund for Agricultural Development.
