Judith Morrison is senior advisor for Social Development in the Gender and Diversity Division of the Inter-American Development Bank. She has over 20 years of international development experience and previously served as a regional director at the Inter-American Foundation, program director at the Inter-American Dialogue, and executive director at the Inter-Agency Consultation on Race in Latin America (IAC).
On March 26, 2021, the Dialogue hosted the online event “Afro-descendants: Striving for Equality in Latin America” in partnership with the Inter-American Foundation (IAF). Participants focused on addressing the pre- and post-Covid challenges and opportunities facing Afro-descendants in the region, including access to higher education, public office, corporate boardrooms, economic opportunity, formal employment, clean water, and quality health services.
On Friday, March 26, the Inter-American Dialogue and the Inter-American Foundation will convene a discussion to examine the unique challenges faced by Afro-descendent communities in Latin America and evaluate current policies.
The Dialogue is a hemispheric organization that builds networks of cooperation and action to advance democratic resilience, shared prosperity, social inclusion, and sustainable development across the Americas. We impact policy debates, devise solutions, and enhance collaboration to unlock meaningful change in the Western Hemisphere.
