ONLINE EVENT: After the Vote—What’s Next for Mexico’s Judiciary?

It is likely that Raul (Castro) decided to extend his mandate to give the powers that be more time to build a consensus on the path forward. There appears to be a lot of uncertainty and nervousness about this transition. There are new factors in the mix, including a frostier relationship with the Trump administration and lack of clarity about future relations. The sharply declining support from Venezuela — because of that country’s deepening crisis — has also unsettled Cuban officials.
