Fidel’s death opens a path for the moderate and reform-minded factions to gain ground, but we also know that many in the Cuban-American community think the system will replace Raúl with another Castro – and continuity. About the only thing we can say for sure is that there will be a power struggle within the government over the next president and the country’s direction.
