Mexicanos Primero recently released its fourth Inclusive Education Performance Index (IDEI), which ranks each Mexican state on a series of six indicators, including student learning, education efficacy, percentage of students staying in school, teacher quality, school supervision and educational support, and parent and community involvement.
Based on a detailed review of state practices, field visits, and teaching achievements, the report also provides an in-depth analysis of education performance in each state and recommendations for improvement.
The report represents an important example of civil society monitoring public education quality, and will be a useful tool for Mexican states striving to improve the quality of their education systems.
