Ana Rosa Quintana-Lovett, senior director of policy at the Vandenberg Coalition: “President-elect Trump was elected by a majority of Americans, including a historic number of Hispanics, who were abandoned and dissatisfied by the Biden-Harris administration. These voters also gave Republicans a majority and the Senate, delivering the president-elect an irrefutable mandate. Chief among voters’ concerns was the administration’s counterproductive approach to border security and immigration policy. The story of Laken Riley, a nursing student who was brutally murdered by a known Tren de Aragua member unlawfully paroled into the United States and protected from federal detention by sanctuary city policies, provides the clearest explanation as to why Americans voted for a sweeping overhaul.
