While long Covid can occur even after mild or asymptomatic infection, we have seen that the risk increases with severe Covid. Among unvaccinated or under vaccinated populations in Brazil, Mexico, Peru and Colombia, we should therefore anticipate heavy burdens of long Covid among both adult and pediatric populations.
