How Will a Darien Gap Campaign Address Migration?

The three countries have yet to specify the concrete measures of what the 60-day campaign to curb the flow of migrants will entail and the long-term plan after. More importantly, a coordinated immigration plan requires tackling the real causes of migration—people from Haiti, Venezuela, Colombia and Ecuador are fleeing poverty and persecution; hence, it is highly unlikely that authorities can deter them from making the trip by merely outlining the dangers of crossing.
