The latest round, on April 12 in Washington, discussed mechanisms to address irregular migration, migration trends, repatriations of Cuban citizens, embassy functions and related issues. These discussions reflect the commitment by both countries to review the implementation of the migration accords that aim to promote safe, orderly and humane migration. These kinds of periodic engagements underscore the U.S. commitment to diplomatic discussions that bolster U.S. interests.
