The legislation stalled in Congress because it was presented by lawmakers who were at the time in opposition to the government. There are differing opinions on the measure’s effect. The government says the bill’s implementation should be gradual and that the measure will benefit more than four million workers, improving their quality of life. Chile’s treasury assures that ‘countries with even shorter working hours are among the most productive economies in the world.’ Nevertheless…”
