There are different categories of actions to consider, which involve combating criminal organizations from within their own base and leadership, cutting their lifelines, both production and assets, and perhaps most importantly, stopping criminals’ access to institutional networks and leaders that facilitate illicit activities. The critical challenge is to limit and curtail the influence that criminal networks have on governments…”
