Tania Ortiz Mena is IEnova’s chief executive officer since September 2018 and member of the Board of Directors since January 2019. Prior to her appointment as CEO, she was chief development officer, in charge of both Business Development and Commercial operations. Ortiz Mena began her career at IEnova in 2000, holding positions as general manager, project director, director for government and regulatory affairs, and chief external affairs officer. From 1994-1999, Ortiz Mena worked as deputy commercial manager for Refined Products of Pemex subsidiary PMI.
Ortiz Mena was recently appointed as an independent board member of the Mexican Stock Exchange and member of its Corporate Practices Committee. She co-chairs the US-Mexico Energy Business Council. Ortiz Mena is also board member of the Mexican Natural Gas Association, the World Energy Council – Mexico Chapter, and the Mexican Council on Foreign Relations COMEXI. From 2015-2016, she served as chairman of the Mexican Natural Gas Association. She was also member of the Advisory Board of the Energy Regulatory Commission.
Ortiz Mena holds a master’s degree in international relations from Boston University and a bachelor’s degree in international relations from Universidad Iberoamericana.
Ortiz Mena joined the Dialogue as a Member in 2020.
Tania Ortiz Mena, former CEO of IEnova, a leading energy company in Mexico, was appointed as president of the Clean Energy and Infrastructure group of the company Sempra Infraestructura, as well as president of Sempra Infraestructura for Mexico.
