Luis is the head of Currencies, Commodities and Emerging Markets Research at J.P. Morgan, where he joined in 1997. Luis manages a team of around 70 researchers in 13 countries that analyze fundamental and technical drivers for global currencies and commodities, as well as the economists and strategists that analyze macro dynamics of emerging market economies to identify investment opportunities in fixed income and currency markets in Emerging Asia, Eastern Europe, Middle East, Africa and Latin America. Luis’ previous professional engagements include teaching economics at New York University, serving as a researcher at the Operations Evaluation Department of the World Bank, and economic analyst at Grupo Apoyo, an economic think-tank in Lima, Peru.
