Inter-American Dialogue fellows are subject matter experts who engage in the organization’s meetings and working groups, lead special projects, and contribute to research and publications.

 

Fellows come from different countries, disciplines, sectors, and points of view. Some have held senior government positions, while others come to the Dialogue from journalism, the private sector, academia, and civil society. This diversity of perspective is one way the Dialogue pursues its mission of advancing democratic resilience, shared prosperity, social inclusion, and sustainable development across the Americas, ensuring its analysis and proposals are tested through open debate and reflect the full breadth of the hemisphere.

 

The Dialogue’s fellowship portfolio also includes the Abraham F. Lowenthal Public Policy Fellowships, which bring outstanding scholars, policymakers, and public intellectuals from across the Americas to Washington for residencies of three to six months of research, writing, and engagement, honoring the legacy of the Dialogue’s co-founder.
