Sergio Luna is the chief economist and new business developments at Grupo Financiero Mifel. Prior, he served as chief economist at Citibanamex from 2005 to 2020.
Over the years, he has been actively involved with the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), working closely with the organization as Mexico’s economic forecaster. He views APEC as a body that is once again becoming vitally important for Asia-Pacific economies, particularly Mexico, in the post-COVID-19 era, especially with respect to trade relations and future economic development.
Luna is an economist trained at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and holds an MSc and a PhD in economics from the University of London.
