Ryan Johnson is the senior director for global government affairs at the global satellite broadband firm, Viasat. He holds a masters degree in internet governance from the University of Malta, and a bachelors in political science from Indiana Wesleyan University. Prior to joining Viasat, he worked for over ten years in the global technology policy space, with a focus on cybersecurity, development, and connecting the unconnected. His work has been published in academic journals, magazines, and UN publications.

Johnson is an ambassador of connectivity for educational purposes.
