Raquel Bernal is the rector at Universidad de los Andes (Colombia), a position she has held since 2022, and has been a full professor at the university’s Faculty of Economics since 2006. Between 2019 and 2022 she served as academic vice-rector. Her research focuses on the areas of social policy, education, early childhood, human capital, household economics, and labor economics. Bernal is an expert in impact evaluation and has worked closely with the Colombian government since 2006 to improve public policies in education and early childhood.
