Priya Manickchand is the Minister of Education of Guyana since August 2020.  Among her main projects have been measures to establish universal primary and secondary education. Previously, Manickchand was elected to Guyana’s Parliament in 2006 with the portfolio of minister of Human Services and Social Security. During her tenure, she initiated countrywide campaigns to address sexual violence, strengthen childcare protection, and expand legal aid services for vulnerable populations. Manickchand is an attorney, formally attached to the Legal Aid Clinic. 

Manickchand was an event speaker at the Dialogue.
