Nicolás Ardito-Barletta served as president of Panama from 1984 to 1985. Prior to his election, Ardito-Barletta served as Panama’s minister of planning and economic policy and as vice president for Latin America and the Caribbean at the World Bank. Since leaving office, he has served as general administrator of the Interoceanic Region Authority (ARI) and as director of the department of economic affairs at the Organization of American States. He is currently the President of Asesores Estrategicos, S.A., and Director General of the NGO Centro Nacional de Competitividad. 

Ardito-Barletta is a Former Member of the Dialogue.
