Nick Zimmerman is a non-resident senior fellow at the Inter-American Dialogue’s Brazil Program and founding partner of Dinámica Americas. Zimmerman served as senior policy advisor to the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, director for Brazil and Southern Cone affairs at the White House National Security Council, and special assistant in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy. He has also supported three of the last five U.S. presidential campaigns.
Since 2017, Zimmerman has held leadership roles in several strategic advisory firms, including as a senior advisor on the Americas at WestExec Advisors and as director of U.S. policy at Macro Advisory Partners. In these capacities, he has counseled Fortune 500 companies, philanthropies, and civil society organizations on U.S. politics and policy, as well as on political, economic, and regulatory developments in the Americas. He was a senior advisor and global fellow of the Latin American Program and the Brazil Institute at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars from 2021 to 2025.
