Nand C. Bardouille is the manager of The University of West Indies (UWI) Diplomatic Academy of the Caribbean. He leads the first-of-its-kind regional capacity-building programme on diplomatic training and analysis, supporting the promotion of the coordination of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) states’ foreign policies and the conduct of Community relations in respect of third parties. This is a high-visibility, government-facing projectized work programme. It is informed by and responsive to the complex international political-cum-economic environment and the Region’s interests and relations therein, including the nexus between domestic and foreign policy vis-à-vis geopolitical and economic developments. Bardouille directs dynamic, high-quality curriculum development and teaching, i.e, in-service training for and evaluation of Foreign Service Officers and other diplomatic personnel.

Prior to joining UWI, he consulted on political risk analysis, advisory, and government relations, having also worked at University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI) as visiting professor of international relations of small island states.

Previously, Bardouille served as a senior trade official for over twelve years with the CARICOM Secretariat, the Caribbean Regional Negotiating Machinery (now unit of Directorate of Single Market and External Trade, CARICOM Secretariat) and the now Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States Commission. He contributed to the formulation, delivery and monitoring and evaluation of capacity-building projects to enhance Caribbean states’ regional development processes, directing public affairs. He served as advisor for communications at the intersection of foreign and trade policy, regional integration and development cooperation.

He also held social sciences teaching appointments at higher education institutions, including at UWI. Earlier in his career, Bardouille worked at the United Nations (UN).

Bardouille is a Canadian-trained political scientist. He holds postgraduate degrees in political science, public administration, and international development studies, with a B.A. in political science and certificate in public administration.
