Monica Pinilla-Roncancio is a researcher in disability and poverty, with expertise in health economics in developing countries. Pinilla-Roncancio is deputy director of the Center for Sustainable Development in Latin America and the Caribbean (CODS) and associate professor at the Universidad de los Andes in Colombia.
In addition, Pinilla-Roncancio is co-director of metrics and policy at the Oxford University Poverty and Human Development Initiative (OPHI), where she coordinates work in Latin America, East Asia, and some countries in Africa and the Middle East.
Pinilla-Roncancio is a physiotherapist with a master’s degree in economics from the Universidad del Rosario (Colombia). She also holds a master’s degree in health economics, policy, and law from Erasmus University Rotterdam, the Netherlands. She completed her PhD in social policy at the University of Birmingham (UK).
