Mia Amor Mottley is the prime minister of Barbados. She served as leader of the opposition Barbados Labor Party (BLP) from 2008-2010 and again from 2013-2018 and was a member of Parliament. She is a Queen’s counsel, which denotes an attorney-at-law of high and distinguished standing in the British Commonwealth.

From 1994 to 2008, she held a succession of ministerial portfolios, including as deputy prime minister, attorney general, minister of home affairs, minister of education, and minister of economic affairs and development. Mottley has served as leader of the House, a member of the National Security Council and of the Barbados Defense Board. She directed the establishment of the Youth Entrepreneurship Scheme and a National Youth Development Program.

Mottley is currently on leave from the Dialogue until the end of her term.
