Mayda de León is currently serving as the vice minister of Violence and Crime Prevention at Guatemala’s Ministry of the Interior. In this role, she is responsible for designing and implementing public policies aimed at preventing crime and violence under President Arévalo’s administration.
She is a lawyer and notary with specializations in human rights, crime prevention, and the rights of children and adolescents. Additionally, she holds a doctorate in International Constitutional Law.
Prior to assuming her current positon, she held various positions in public administration and civil society organizations focused on legal reform, youth protection, and violence prevention.
