Secretary for Access to Rights and Equity, Organization of American States

Maricarmen Plata is the secretary for access to rights and equity at the Organization of American States (OAS) a position she has held since March 2021. Before joining the OAS, Plata was a partner at Anzola Robles and Associates from 2003 to 2018 and associate attorney at Sucre Arias Reyes. She founded and co-founded both Plan B Divorce and Virtù Atelier Legal respectively. She is also a member of the board at HOPSA S.A. Plata graduated with an LLM from the University of Cambridge and has received undergraduate degrees from the Universidad Latina de Panamá and Universiteit Leiden and received a degree in law and political science from the Universidad Católica Santa María La Antigua.

Plata was an event speaker at the Dialogue.
