Maria Tapia was the Accounting Associate at the Inter-American Dialogue. She received her B.S. from La Unidad de Mantenimiento Vial and her M.A. from La Salle in Mexico City. Before she moved to the United States 10 years ago, she worked at ING Insurance for 25 years where she managed the Issue Resolution Department, administrating some of the biggest contracts for Government offices such as PEMEX, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Social Development among others. During her last year at ING, she assisted in creating Risk and Procedure Manuals according to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. After her position at ING Insurance, Maria worked for various companies within the private and non-profit sectors in the United States. In her free time, Maria loves art, books, and movies.
