María Elena Valdez is a clinical psychologist, a graduate of the Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE), with a master’s degree in special educational needs and attention to diversity from the University of Seville, Spain.
Valdez currently serves as the child development monitoring officer at the National Institute for Comprehensive Early Childhood Care (INAIPI), a position in which she promotes the measurement of child development and the strategic use of data to strengthen the comprehensive early childhood care model in the Dominican Republic.
She has been one of the driving forces behind the Dominican Child Development Measurement System (SIMEDID), the country’s first standardized system for evaluating child development on a large scale, from its creation and validation to its implementation.
Valdez was an event speaker at the Dialogue.
