Manabu Ohara

Manabu Ohara is director general of the Latin America and the Caribbean Department at the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). He served as the representative of JICA’s Bolivia office, where he was responsible for the implementation and formulation of financial and technical cooperation projects across various sectors, including health, infrastructure, energy, and agriculture. Ohara has also made significant contributions to the Nikkei Partnership Program, which supports and collaborates with Japanese emigrants and their descendants. Ohara holds a MA in International Studies from the University of Leeds and has been awarded an honorary doctorate from the Aquino University Bolivia.
