Lydia Maria Dibos

Director of Development, Inter-American Dialogue

Lydia Maria Dibos is the director of development at the Inter-American Dialogue. Dibos joined the Dialogue as a development consultant in 2023 and became the director in January 2024. Dibos has a background in humanitarian response and international development in Latin America and the Caribbean as well as national and international Hispanic marketing and development. Prior to joining the Dialogue, Dibos had a 27-year long career with Catholic Relief Services. She supported programming efforts while living in Guatemala and Honduras, was a deputy regional director for Latin America and the Caribbean and, most recently, spearheaded the agency’s US Hispanic Development efforts since 2006.

Raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Dibos received her BA in international relations from the Johns Hopkins University and her MA in Latin American Studies from Georgetown University.

Dibos lives in Baltimore with her husband John and sons Andrew and Patrick.
