Lucy Chay is the deputy director of elPeriódico, a position she has held there since 2020. Before that, she was editor in chief from 2017 to 2020. elPeriódico is a Guatemala-based newspaper, and is considered one of the leading publications in Central America. 

Chay graduated from the Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala with a master’s degree in strategic analysis, security, and geopolitics. 

Chay was an event speaker at the Dialogue.
