Kotaro Horisaka

Professor, Sophia University

Kotaro Horisaka is the professor emeritus of Sophia University (Jochi Daigaku) in Tokyo. He had worked for the economic daily newspaper, Nihon Keizai Shimbun (Nikkei) from April 1970 to 1982 as a news correspondent including the São Paulo Bureau, after graduated from International Christian University (Tokyo). He had been a faculty member of Sophia University since 1983 to 2010. During this period, the professorate appointed him to Dean of Faculty of Foreign Studies and Director of Iberoamerica Institute. He serves as an executive director for many institutions related with Latin America, such as Japan Association of Latin America and the Caribbean, and the Association of Nikkei (Japanese ancestry) & Japanese Abroad. He has many publications on the political economy of Latin America.

Horisaka was an event speaker at the Dialogue.
