Kota Sakaguchi is the director of the Central America & the Caribbean Division of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). Sakaguchi has held multiple positions within JICA, including director of the rural and agricultural development operation for the ASEAN region and deputy director of the southern Africa region. Sakaguchi also taught rural and agricultural development at Sao Paulo University, Chiba University, Kochi University, and Kagoshima University. He holds a BA from the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies and an MS from the University of Reading.
