Kenia Zamarripa is vice president of international and public affairs at the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, where she oversees international relations, public policy efforts, and binational advocacy initiatives. She works to strengthen political, cultural, and economic ties across the U.S.-Mexico border and leads a robust policy agenda focused on cross-border trade and business-friendly legislation. Zamarripa also coordinates the Chamber’s annual binational delegation visits to Washington, D.C., Sacramento, and Mexico City to advance the region’s strategic priorities
Before joining the Chamber, Zamarripa served as director of marketing and international affairs at the Sportfishing Association of California, where she collaborated with Mexican government agencies to streamline foreign tourist permitting and led outreach initiatives to keep stakeholders informed on regulatory changes affecting the sportfishing community.
She currently serves as vice chair of the City of San Diego’s International Affairs Board and sits on the board of the Border Trade Alliance, which advocates for improved trade and border policy across North America.
Zamarripa earned a BA in marketing administration from CETYS Universidad in Tijuana in 2009, an MSc in global marketing management from the University of Liverpool in 2015, and a postgraduate certificate in human resources from the University of Liverpool in 2017. She is a 2019 graduate of LEAD San Diego’s Impact program and a member of the HOPE Leadership Institute’s 2021 cohort.
