Kellee Wicker is vice president of the Center for Technology, Innovation, and Space at the Meridian International Center.
She is the former director of the Science and Technology Innovation Program at the Wilson Center. She brings over a decade of experience in policy and international affairs, paired with a lifelong passion for technology. In her role at the Wilson Center, Wicker worked to illuminate emerging technologies and scientific advances impacting global systems, while shaping policy strategies to strengthen and govern the innovation cycle.
Before joining the Wilson Center, Wicker served as chief operating officer of the NewDEAL, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting moderate state and local elected officials across the United States. Under her leadership, the organization supported over 200 leaders, advanced tech-driven policy solutions, expanded its national reach, increased fundraising, and hosted high-profile policy conferences.
Wicker holds a master’s degree in global public policy from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs and a master of arts in Latin American studies from the University of Texas. She earned dual bachelor’s degrees in international studies and Spanish from the University of Mississippi. Her writing has explored education reform in Brazil, Uruguay’s political system, climate technology, entrepreneurship in underserved U.S. regions, and international trilateral aid. Her research has supported institutions including the U.S. Department of Defense, the World Bank, and the Millennium Challenge Corporation.
