Karla Schiaffino Pérez contributes to Verisk Maplecroft’s Americas team, generating in-depth and forward-looking analysis of political, regulatory, economic and security developments in Mexico, Central America, Colombia, and Trinidad and Tobago. Schiaffino Pérez also works closely with Verisk Maplecroft’s analytics, human rights and environmental teams on products and analysis relevant to international investors.

Prior to joining Verisk Maplecroft, Schiaffino Pérez served as an associate consultant in the corporate investigations department of the security consultancy Control Risks. As an associate consultant, Schiaffino Pérez carried out in-depth due diligence investigations in Mexico and Central America and helped clients make investment decisions in those countries.

She also conducted security threat assessments for specific locations in Mexico. Schiaffino Pérez holds a master’s degree in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University and a dual bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Relations from the Autonomous Institute of Technology of Mexico (ITAM).
