Karen Antebi is director and chair of the international practice at Prime Policy Group.

A former Mexican trade negotiator and diplomat, she has more than 20 years of experience in global trade, public policy, and diplomacy. Before joining Prime, Antebi was senior director at IQOM Strategic Advisors, where she advised multinational clients and Mexico’s largest private sector organization on trade, regulatory, and investment issues. Earlier, as economic counselor at the embassy of Mexico in Washington, DC, she led the Mexican government’s U.S. outreach during the renegotiation of NAFTA into the USMCA and helped address bilateral trade disputes.

Antebi previously directed global compliance programs at BSA The Software Alliance, focusing on digital trade, cybersecurity, intellectual property, and data policy. She began her public service career in Mexico’s ministry of commerce as part of the original NAFTA negotiating team and later served as chief of staff to the deputy secretary for international trade, contributing to Mexico’s trade agreements with the European Union, Israel, and Japan.

Antebi holds a degree in political science from Brandeis University, a master’s in international policy studies from Stanford University, and studied international relations at Somerville College, Oxford University.
