Jorge Cuartas is an assistant professor in the Department of Applied Psychology at New York University (NYU) and director of the Catalyzing Action for Resilient Ecologies (CARE) research lab. His research focuses on early childhood development, preventing violence against children, designing and evaluating interventions and policies, and the links between climate change and human development. Cuartas has been a consultant for the World Bank, UNICEF, and the Inter-American Development Bank, among others. He is a research associate at the Center for Studies on Security and Drugs (CESED) at the University of the Andes, Director of the Apapacho Foundation, and a member of the steering committee of Developmental Scientists for Climate Action (DevSCA).
Cuartas holds a PhD in education and human development from Harvard University, a master’s in human development and psychology from Harvard, and a master’s in economics from the University of the Andes.
